Horses have been my lifelong passion, beginning at 13 when I started riding at a local school using saved pocket money. By 16, I owned my first horse, and at 18 I began working as an apprentice groom on an eventing yard. This early foundation led to a career dedicated to developing both horses and riders, underpinned by a commitment to building confident, effective partnerships.
I hold British Horse Society qualifications and am a Level 3 Accredited Professional Coach. Alongside producing horses in eventing to FEI 2* and British Eventing Intermediate level, as well as British Showjumping to Newcomer level, I graduated with First-Class Honours in Equine Sport Performance from Bishop Burton College. During my studies, I also represented the university equestrian team, placing second at the national championships.
My coaching experience revealed two consistent challenges for riders: equipment that compromises performance, and mental barriers that limit confidence. To address this, I expanded my expertise beyond traditional coaching. I am a Society of Master Saddlers Trainee Saddle Fitter, a Lantra Certified Bit Fitter, and have completed the SMS Introduction to Bridle Fit course. I also produce, repair, and adjust bridlework to support comfort and connection. On the rider wellbeing side, I am a Flying Changes Advanced Mindset Coach, a somatic trauma-informed coach, and an NLP practitioner.
Through Go Forward Equestrian, I integrate these specialisms into a comprehensive approach that recognises the interconnection between horse, rider, tack, and mindset. By focusing equally on physical comfort, technical skill, and mental resilience, I support riders in creating partnerships with their horses that are built on trust, harmony, and effectiveness.
